Turtle Patrol is So Thankful

One of the most amazing occurrences that happen each summer is when Turtle Patrol members and residents and guests of Holden Beach develop new relationships centered around the love of turtles.

Teams of Turtle Patrol members adopt and sit on a nest starting on Day 50 after the mama lays the eggs. As a team, members meet each evening and take care of their nest waiting patiently for the big night when it boils and the baby turtles emerge. Total strangers soon get to know one another as the residents and vacationers visit the nests. Many times folks open their driveways for parking, personal walkways so we can access the beach better, and even outside hoses to wash the sand off as we leave the beach. Daily conversations occur about the turtles and what Holden Beach Turtle Patrol does.

We are SO very thankful for the kindness, conversations, and relationships that happen! Thank you so much Holden Beach residents and vacationers!
