Donation to Sea Turtle Hospital

We recently donated $5000 to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (KBSTRRC). Sick or injured sea turtles found on our beach are taken to this turtle hospital in Surf City, NC for care and rehabilitation.

The donation will be used to partially fund a new x-ray machine. X-rays are important tools for sea turtle rehabilitation, they help diagnose, treat, and monitor everything from broken bones to pneumonia to osteolysis to hook ingestion in sea turtles. In celebration of the founder, Jean Beasley, the KBSTRRC has established the “X-Ray Fund for Jean’s Turtles” purchase a new machine. The goal is to raise $40,000.
