Nesting and Hatching Continue

posted: July 22, 2018, 10:01 PM

Last Wendesday evening a mother turtle was seen emerging from the ocean and the folks on the beach got to see her dig her nest and lay her eggs at what became nest 27. Since then we've had 2 more new nests on the beach so the mother turtles are still finding their way to Holden Beach!
Nest 2 boiled Friday night with 40 hatchlings making their way to the ocean. Nests 3-5 are now collared and prepared for hatching and nests 6-9 will be collared this week.
