Lots of high water

While Southeastern North Carolina, Brunswick County and Holden Beach were very fortunate to not have been in the immediate path of Hurricane Irma, we are experiencing high water. Sadly all nine of the remaining turtle nests on the beach have been over washed. A tourist called to report eggs on the beach. Trying to find where the eggs came from is almost impossible with all the tidal pools. Sand is building up on nests 44,45, and 39. We're uncertain if any of these nests will be viable. The eggs can withstand some water and over washing but long term this is not good. Teams will be evaluating.
