It's been a wild and crazy season for turtles up and down the North Carolina Coast. The latest report shows that the state has had 1296 nests this year (that's a new record). The last known nest was laid on Cape Hatteras on September 11. Total babies to hatch so far are 88,489.
There are at least 300 nests to hatch in the state. We still have three active nests on Holden Beach.
