We still have active nests on the beach!

Yes, we still have six active nests on Holden Beach. All of these nests were laid after August 1. The last nest was laid on August 22 and is located at 795 OBW. It was "collared" this past week. The "due date" is October 16...but these late season nest have been going long past the due date (we've had some that are already 10 days past the this date...and waiting.) This was a "natural nest" and we don't know how many eggs are in it. Our Assistant Coordinators are "watching" this last nest, stop by to visit them or other HBTM watching these nests. Look for "red shirts" on the beach.
