During the 2011 turtle season. Bailey Watts a local Boy Scout contacted the Holden Beach Turtle Patrol to see if he could help us for his Eagle Scout Project. He joined the HBTP on several nests last season and under the supervision of an Assistant Coordinator, he helped carry equipment, collared nests, trenched, sat nests, attended Turtle Talk sections, talked to visitors on the beach, and assisted in closing nests. Prior to the start of this season, he and two other scouts helped Assistant Coordinators, Pat Cusack and Steve Rex replace green/white turtle warning signs at numerous public access walkways on the beach. As a major part of his Eagle Scout Project, Bailey made a portable necropsy table for the HBTP. He presented the table to Skip Hager our Program Coordinator last Wednesday prior to Turtle Talk.
